Beginnings: 4th Dimension,The Phantoms
L J's first drum was a Ludwig
metal snare.
Neighbors Gary and Charles Rutan were the first musician buds to actually attempt playing a song with L J.
L to R: Charles, L J, Mike Derico, Gary got together to jam a time or two.
The first "gig" L J ever played was with Tom Yount, Lewis Elliot and Dave Maley as "The 4th Dimension". L to R above as the first version of "The Phantoms" are Lewis, L J, Mike Derico and Tom Yount.
