The Reported Freeman's Sound

The Reported Freeman's Sound was a somewhat steadily evolving group of musicians.

At times it featured L J on drums,

Ray Escott with vocals,

Kurt Sunderman or Buster McCarthy on bass, Ray Gross, Jim Phillips and / or Jerry Kostalek and Phil Perman on guitars.

The band's name was created by L J and Ray, a combination of notions about musical and mental freedoms and a neighborhood garage band getting reported to the police for being too loud.

In the midst of the ongoing chaos, L J was invited by school chum John Harrow to abandon his drums and play rhythm guitar for

The Difference Between, which also featured Austintown's Paul Bires on bass and Gary Coates, the original drummer for Youngstown's Human Beingz.
